Still here and still at it…

Posted by Steve M on 4th April 2009

We’re still here and still working on the new album. Today we recorded several tracks for “Wildest Dreams,” a new song by Eric. This means we’ve got Savannah, Carousel, Aftertast and Wildest Dreams in various stages of mixing. Lou is working on an instrumental called “Zombie Minuet” that we’re looking forward to recording and Eric and I agreed we need to rock up the next few tunes as some of the more mellow stuff is already done. Nothing has come in at 7:23 yet but you never know. I suspect there will be some more drum looping in our future. So we’ll write and record the last half of the album over the next few months and who knows… maybe another tour next spring. It’s just good to be writing and recording new, fresh til ten tonight songs. Lou has graciously allowed me to mix some of the songs for this record and I am grateful to have someone as talented as he is to show me the ropes. It has been fun. Enjoy the Final Four and The Masters. This is a great time of year to be a sports fan.

New music soon! Thanks for hanging with us.

Steve

A Nice Compliment for our New Song

Posted by Lou on 22nd December 2008

We made it into the studio this month and managed to complete a single song. Recording a single track usually takes us several sessions, since we’re each perfectionists in our own way. But this song we managed to capture live, a feat so far unusual for us. The song is a Christmas piece E put together called “Not Gonna Fall Asleep” and it’s a sentimental nod to those of us who are children of the 1970s. The song was recently awarded “Track of the Day” honors in the Americana category at Garageband.com. Garageband.com listeners can be a salty lot, so even the most meager of compliments means a great deal.
